This is second time this has happened where the fan runs on continually after switching the ignition off – even though the engine has only been running a couple of minutes and still cold. The first time this happened I had to disconnect the battery overnight which seemed to cure it.
It happened again today but this time I had read an article in the Safety Fast magazine where this strange phenomenon had happened to another V8 owner. They were advised by Nick of Austin Garages to poke a screwdriver down the bonnet catch hole and tap the top of a relay. This resets the relay that controls the fan.
