The MG comes with an original sales brochure listing the car’s exact spec from head to toe. Everything inside the car works as it should and is in great condition with a genuine set of floor mats fitted continuing the luxurious feel.
Being the “260” model it is fitted with a 4.6L Ford Mustang V8 engine, producing 260 BHP, it starts on the button and roars into life sounding amazing. On the surface this ZT shares the same aesthetics as all other ZT’s and a very similar silhouette to the Rover 75, with small differences such as the badges, larger wheels, more substantial rear brakes and the four exhausts bringing up the rear to name a few. However, the 260 is a different beast altogether when you delve underneath its skin; the standout difference being it is rear wheel drive with an inline drivetrain set up, which is no bolt on conversion; the floor pan and steering has been completely re-designed, in order to facilitate the drivetrain. The front suspension has been heavily revised and on the rear it runs a new multi-link independent set-up, all contributing to how unique this car is. When you drive the 260 all the differences and modifications come alive, the steering is incredibly sharp giving great feedback and the brakes are also very responsive. However, it is still composed enough to not give a course ride when cruising is what’s on the agenda.
Moving onto the exterior, the car is finished in Starlight Silver looking incredibly sharp and fresh, with regards to condition there are no significant marks to note with no potential viewer or buyer being disappointed upon arrival. The 18” wheels (unique to the 260) are in overall good condition, wrapped in a matching set of Avon ZX7’s all of which were fitted at the end of 2021. The 260s do not have a space for a spare wheel due to the modified floor pan, which incorporates the rear suspension and axle, however, under the boot floor there is the appropriate kit for mending a puncture. As an extra measure for peace of mind, the current owner has purchased an additional spare wheel with a matching tyre (Avon ZX7) in a bespoke bag that currently lives in the boot (included in the sale), this I’m sure you’ll agree is a much safer bet for an emergency.
