I have tried several different LED bulbs to improve the brightness of the torch but none of them worked – after reading this article I now know why! ……
BMW, in their wisdom, made the glovebox flashlight exactly backwards, so that the pointed end of the bulb gets the negative charge, and the outside base gets the positive charge. While it makes no difference to the existing little incandescent flashlight bulb which way the DC current flows, the LED flashlight bulb will only work with the polarity the one way
