Bought the mirrors, loom and switches about 3 years ago but not fitted them as its a doors off job. Then a local Rover 75 owner told me about a group of like minded enthusiasts that help others do repairs and mods on their cars, giving them advice and hands on help to get it done.

This is a Nanomeet near Wolverhampton so I went on their website and asked to attend their next meeting with the intention of fitting the mirrors.

Find their website at https://www.midlandsnanomeets.co.uk/

All went very well. I got there soon after 9am and was one of the first to arrive but by 10am another 15 or so had arrived. I soon got started as I wanted to get it done before rain that was forecasted early afternoon.

I leant the knack to remove the door cards …… once 2 screws are removed, the plastic studs pulled out from the bottom and sides of the door card and window switch removed. Carefully loosen the door handle cup with surround – do not try to remove the surround on its own – it must be loosened with the cup. Then grab the main door grab handle and yank upwards firmly …… not outwards. It may take a couple of attempts. Then with pliers remove two plastic caps from the 2 large pins in the centre of the door using pliers to release and replace them on the door card.

There were a couple of cars there with the front bumpers off ….. which is on my job list. After seeing how easy compared to a doors off job I will give it a go.

Overall a great day not only getting my long awaited job done but meeting some really interesting people with such a passion for our marque.

NB If you decide to join them don’t use the post code on the sat but use the w3words that they supply that leads to you directly to the gates of the field.
