Rear end tidy up

Behind the wheel arch protectors and mud flaps

It’s nearly 4 years since I last had a good session under the rear of the car. The waxoyl I put on them has done a good job but definitely needs doing again.

Quite a bit of light surface rust on the edges

I removed some light surface rust from the edges of the subframe where the original paint is thinnest. Kurusted the areas then painted over with hammerite. Them a good layer of waxoyl over the whole lot.

Easy access with the hydraulic ramps and axle stands

I’ve seen cars where the underside looks like new but mine is good but hidden under a load of protection against rust.

Job done for another year

I replaced the original rusty screws used for mudflaps and wheel arch protectors with stainless steel screws. Also I cleaned up the shockers back to their original yellow.

Overall pleased with the results and now ready for some wet weather we are bound to get.
