The air filter has to be replaced every 30k miles, my car has done 24k so considering I’m doing an oil change seemed a good time to do the air filter as well.
I considered buying a k&n but at £70 thought the paper filter at £13 would be good for another 30k miles.

I read that you can replace the filter without removing the bumper. It’s the route I went down as i had the engine under tray already moved to do an oil change.

It’s how the Rave Manual instruct how to change the filter.
Unclip 90 degree intake elbow (above the MAF)
Remove the square resonator box
Undo the spring clip at the bottom and remove the whole bottom part of the intake (MAF down to the filter) out under the car.
Then insert the new filter and do the reverse.

I found that it was easier re-assembling by removing the 90deg elbow, fit the maf on top of the filter box then refitting the elbow.
