A couple of mot’s back the tester mentioned that he thought the front springs were getting a bit corroded. He re-iterated the same at the last mot ….. so having already bought the springs after he first mentioned it ….. this seemed a good time to fit them.
These cars like many are prone to the springs failing of you hit a bump at speed on cold weather ….. the rust creates stress points that cause the spring to snap if they receive a sudden shock.
A pretty straight forward job and a good time to clean and repaint them. Considering these struts cost over £500 each to replace I need to look after them. Also repainted them at the same time.
