Soon after I bought the car I replaced the front and rear badges as they were so faded. Now after about 3 years the front and rear MG badges were getting in very poor condition so I bought some replacements via ebay. The difference can be seen from the photo below of the rear badge.
On close examination of the badge after i had removed and replaced it I could tell that it appears to be the surface coating that has faded…. badly faded! So with some quite course polishing compound, a lot of rubbing and then t-cut it polished up to almost new.
So rather than replacing the front badge I did the same and polished it up and that came up as nearly new as well.
Wish I’d done this before spending £15+ on a new set …… although I don’t think it will be long before the front will need another polish.
